Dear parishioners and friends,<\/p>\n

Apparently ‘you’re on mute!’ was the most often used phrase of 2020. It looks like it will be a prominent one in 2021 too. We use it when we can see the other person on the Zoom call but can’t hear what they are saying until they click on the icon to activate their microphone. It takes a conscious decision to communicate fully with another person. <\/div>\n
We are in mid January. The memory of Christmas has receded and so it is important to stay in touch with people. Let me ask you this week to make a conscious decision to lift the phone, set up a Zoom call or use Facetime or Skype to talk to someone. It can make such a difference at this time of the year when many people feel lonely, particularly if they spend much of the day on their own. <\/div>\n

We are mindful of all hospital staff, carers and front line workers in these challenging times, as well as those affected by the release of the report into Mother and Baby Homes. They are being remembered in the prayers in our service this weekend.  <\/div>\n
