St. Luke\u2019s Douglas parishioner Janet Dillon<\/span><\/strong> will shortly be spending a week volunteering at the Refugee Centre in Athens with her friend Deirdre Mackesy.\u00a0 Inspired by traumatic scenes of death and despair on the television, Janet and Deirdre decided that they could not stand idly by any longer, and have decided to embark on a fundraising effort to assist them in their mission. Their major fundraising event is a Garden Party, which will take place to-day, \u00a0Sunday 1st May, in Robin Hill House (Deirdre\u2019s home), Lake Road, Rushbrooke from 2pm to 6.30pm.\u00a0 This will be compered by Claire Cullinane, and feature her Animation Team ladies dressed in Victorian Costume, music, a bouncy castle, a fun dog show, cakes and much more.\u00a0 You are invited to attend this event. Janet would especially request your assistance, and would be very grateful, if you are in a position to bake a cake for this event, or provide a prize for our raffle.<\/p>\n

Cobh and Glanmire Parish Annual Garden Fete<\/span><\/strong> will take place in St. Mary\u2019s and All Saints Church, Church Hill, Glanmire on Saturday, 7th<\/sup> May at 2.30pm.<\/p>\n
