The confirmation service provides young parishioners and others an opportunity to reaffirm the promises made on their behalf at their baptism and to receive the laying on of hands by the Bishop. This service is held annually in the parish. A number of classes are held with the confirmation candidates prior to the service. If you are considering taking this step in your Christian pilgrimage, feel free to talk to the Rector or any of the clergy.

Generally confirmation classes begin shortly after Christmas and the confirmation service is held several weeks after Easter depending on the availability of the Bishop. When children are being confirmed, at the start of the preparation process, a meeting is held with the parents and candidates. In this case parents are very much involved in encouraging their children. It is important that anyone considering confirmation makes contact with the Rector in the autumn. This helps greatly in preparing material for the classes.
