What’s on this week?

 

Harvest Thanksgiving.  Mr Keith Roberts will be our guest preacher in Frankfield and Douglas.  Rev. Elaine Murray will be the guest preacher at our annual ecumenical harvest Thanksgiving Service in St. Mary’s Church in Passage West at 7pm. There will be morning service in Passage.

 

Tuesday

Parish Art Group – Old Schoolhouse, Blackrock @ 10am. All welcome, pay as you go. €10 a class.
Badminton – Marmullane @ 8pm. All welcome.
Parish Book Club will hold their first meeting of the new season in the Maryborough Hotel on the 16th September at 8pm.

 

Wednesday 

Monthly Lunch – Old School House, Blackrock @ 12.30pm

Bowls Club – CPH @ 7.45pm

Parish Prayers will take place in the home of Joan Miller, Ballintemple at 3pm. All welcome.

Thursday

1st Cork Company  The Boys’ Brigade.  6pm – 7pm  Anchors.

7.15pm – 8.30pm  Junior and Company Sections.

Bible Study will take place in the home of Carol Boylan, Moneygourney at 7.30pm.

Notices

C.C.R. Diocesan Training on Global Poverty and the Church’s Response will take place on Tuesday, 23rd, September at 2pm-5pm in the Lecture Theatre, Bandon Grammar School, Bandon, Co. Cork.

Bishop Paul Colton will host the event and it will be facilitated by Lydia Monds from Bishop’s Appeal and Michael Biggs from Christian Aid. This event is open for anyone to attend.

Blarney and District Garden and Flower Club present a Flower Festival in the Church of the Resurrection, The Square, Blarney on 26th-28th September.  All are welcome.  See poster at back of the church.

Monday 29th (St. Michael and All Angels) Holy Communion – St. Michael’s Church, Blackrock @ 11am.

Bible Study will take place in the home of Joan Miller, Ballintemple on Wednesday, 8th October at 3.00pm and in the home of Carol Boylan, Moneygourney on Thursday, 9th October at 7.30pm.

Douglas and St FinBarre’s Scout Group are seeking new adolescents to join the Scout (12-15 yrs) or Venture Scout (15-17 yrs) sections. Both girls and boys are most welcome. We have weekly meetings and regular outdoor activities where young people can develop key teamwork and leadership skills. Further information can be found at www.douglasscouts.ie
