Parish Matters September 2016

The Rector writes…… This month our parish Sunday School groups resume after the summer break. There are active Sunday Schools in Douglas, Frankfield and Passage West and I know that all parishioners are very grateful to the leaders who run the programme in these churches during the year. In recent times we have seen a growing number of children attending services in St. Michael’s Blackrock. Hopefully if this continues, [...]

Parish Matters July & August 2016

The Rector writes……     At our united service recently, a new baptismal banner was dedicated in St. Luke’s Church and placed in the baptistery. This is the work of Stephanie Giltinan and we are very grateful for the many hours she put into the design and creation of this work. It contains many appropriate symbols and will be a useful visual aid for many years to come. [...]

Parish Matters June 2016

The Rector writes…… Last month I attended the Church of Ireland General Synod which was held in the Royal Marine Hotel in Dun Laoghaire this year. The sun shone on each of the three days. The fact that the conference room looked out over the pier and at lunch time delegates could sit out and picnic in the grounds perhaps contributed to the relatively upbeat atmosphere to the deliberations [...]
