There are active Sunday Schools in Douglas, Frankfield and Passage West and I know that all parishioners are very grateful to the leaders who run the programme in these churches during the year. The Rector writes…… Last month I attended the Church of Ireland General Synod which was held in the Royal Marine Hotel in Dun Laoghaire this year. The sun shone on each of the three days. The fact that the conference room looked out over the pier and at lunch time delegates could sit out and picnic in the grounds perhaps contributed to the relatively upbeat atmosphere to the deliberations [...]
Today a new baptismal banner is being dedicated in St. Luke’s Church and it will hang in the baptistery there. It has many interesting features, including a small selection of the Christian names of the many thousands of people who were baptised in the church, beginning with Sarah who was baptised on 28 July 1789.
