Dear parishioners and friends,

We have to come to terms with the fact that for the next few weeks it is likely that our four churches will remain closed for Sunday and mid-week services. But that does not mean that we don’t stay connected as a parish community. I have set up two ways that this can be done.
The first is the Genesis Reading Challenge. I hope that between now, and Advent Sunday at the end of November, as many of you as possible will read the book of Genesis. It is the first book in the Bible. To encourage you to start, I suggest that you look at the short video introduction to it that I have prepared and put up on the parish YouTube channel.

To help you to keep going, each week, I have invited a parishioner to contribute their thoughts on a favourite event or character in the book. They will be put up on the same channel week by week.
Secondly, a reminder to you all to send in your favourite recipes for inclusion in our Parish Cookbook.  We have some already, but we need more! It can be anything from a lunchtime snack to your Christmas cake recipe. All we ask is that you include a couple of sentences with it saying what this dish means to you. Don’t put off doing it. Send it today using the dedicated email address douglasfrankfieldcookbook@gmail.com or if you prefer post it to the Rectory.  I look forward to hearing from you.
I will send out a reminder email tomorrow evening with the link to our Sunday service which will come from St Michael’s Church in Blackrock.

Every blessing,

Adrian
